BIS student on Archery Tournament

Congratulations to Gustavo Barcellos on his first Archery Tournament appearance. After a lot of success in doing archery at BIS Gustavo (12th grade) is taking on new challenges in Archery. This weekend he participated in an official tournament sponsored by the International Field Archery Association. Even though he was shooting with a different bow than he is is used to practice at BIS, and at a much further distance (18m) he did really well. Coach Batista (archery coach at BIS) is proud of Gustavo and hopes to see more BIS students participating in such competitions. Next tournament will be in March. Let's go Eagles!

Dear parents and students,
Thank you for your participation and support in after-school clubs. It's been a terrific semester. Our next session of clubs will start in February so plan your schedules ahead so you don't miss out!

Soccer club with Ms Carolina (former professional soccer player and awesome coach)! We will offer soccer after school on Tuesday and Thursday for students in 3rd to 6th grade (or ages 8 to 12), and on Wednesdays for students on preschool 4 to 2nd grade (or ages 4 to 7). Coach Batista will also be helping Ms. Carolina with this soccer program. This club is open to all children, so bring a friend that is not from BIS too! Soccer club will also continue throughout the whole semester, from February to June.

And much more… Throughout the semester we will offer many other different clubs as well such as Archery, Baking, Art, Tennis, etc… so stay tuned and plan ahead of 2014.

More soccer next semester. Way to go Eagles!!!

Basketball teams finished strong

The boys basketball teams finished the season with two strong performances. The JV team lost a close game to EDN on the semi-finals (25 to 28) and beat the French School to clinch the third place for the season. The Varsity team had a great game also against EDN with a dramatic finish at the free throw line, losing by just one point. Then another excellent display of basketball and team work against the French School also falling short by just one point. Despite missing a few players on the last games the Eagles have proven to be a strong competitive team on this league and we are certainly looking forward to an even better season next year. Way to go Eagles!!! Next we'll have Christmas break and after that we'll switch gears for the soccer season. Great job to all players who represented BIS this season!

Varsity Team: Adnan, Ben, Goro, Frizald, Roen, Wilko, Alex, Kwame, Letsie, Andrew.

Junior Varsity Team: Goro, Tomohiro, Wilko, Iyaloo, Lucca, Daniel, Farhan, Omair, Rafael, Salvador, Reagan, Linus.
